An overview about the legal, economical and technical dimension of health care services provided to European citizens during a temporary stay abroad but inside the E.U. It will also address some of the interoperability issues with respect to identification and authentication of patients and health practitioners. The presentation will finally tackle some of the on-going pan-european initatives aiming to implement easier and secure crossborder exchange of administrative or medical data (e-EHIC/EESSI, HPROCARD, NETC@RDS, epSOS, ...)
