Biography
David is an independent consultant who has been engaged with health information projects and planning both in the UK and across Europe since 1979. During that time he has worked extensively with clinicians in all disciplines and their representative organisations, managers and policy makers. This work has provided him with detailed knowledge and insight into the use of health and clinical information and the issues associated with those uses including confidentiality, privacy and consent.
David started his career in the UK's Department of Health and has continued to maintain a thorough understanding of health policy and clinical issues and the sensitivities associated with them. David has worked with Ministers and Directors and has also worked with representatives of the medical profession on information and technology issues. He has a strong end-user focus and currently advises the Patient and Citizens Task Force of the European Health Telematics Association (EHTEL) in its work within the European Union.
