Miroslav Ouzký Chairman of Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, European Parliament

Biography

After studies at the Medical faculty of the Charles University in Prague Miroslav Ouzký became a Head Physician at the Department of Physiotherapy at the Kadaň Hospital (North-Western Bohemia). He manages a private health service facility ARC-MEC there. Between 1994 and 2004 he was a Member of the Local Council in Kadaň, between 1998 and 2004 a Member of the Czech Parliament as well as a Member of the Council of Europe. In 2004 he was elected a Member of the European Parliament. In the European Parliament, he held a position of a Vice-President between 2004 and 2007 and in February 2007 he was elected the Chairman of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety.
