Biography

Jacqueline Bowman is founder and Managing Director of Scope Communications, an independent business strategy and communications management consultancy specializing in healthcare IT and Public Health.

Jacqueline has spent more than 12 years involved in pan-EMEA Communications and brand management in Brussels.  Her career has spanned the European institutions (European Parliament, UK Permanent Representation to the EU and work with various Commission DGs), UN agencies, trade and professional associations, NGOs and consultancies.

Jacqueline led the Marketing & Communications team for The World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition 2006 and 2007. 

She was previously Communications Director EMEA for the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society (HIMSS); Director, Marketing & Communications MCI Brussels, head of the European Parliamentary Working Group on Population, Development and Reproductive Health & Rights and has also been Communications Advisor to a number of Public Health Organisations and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA). 

Jacqueline’s vision for eHealth in Europe is the realization of the eHealth Lead Market Initiative . Using a dynamic network model, Scope Communications brings together established professionals to bring the best expertise to partner with clients in the public as well as private sectors. She has structured her firm around the three core competences that she and her colleagues believe will bring the most tangible business results to Scope clients. These are Business strategy, stakeholder engagement and Campaign management.

An English- and French-speaker, the Guyanese-born Briton holds degrees in English Law and French Law as well as in Integrated Communications Management and a post graduate certificate in Business Administration. She is currently combining her business activities with part-time International MBA studies at Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School in Belgium.
